Cash for the gap before payday.

Your Contingency Wallet

LoanGram is an Android app for Ugandan salary earners. Apply for an Emergency Loan from your phone, receive funds by Mobile Money, and repay in under 15 weeks — in full or in part — from the same app.

The Android app is not on the Play Store yet. Request access and we will notify you when it is live.

The product

One loan type: Emergency Loan

Terms below are from the live Android app — not the old 2019 marketing cards. LoanGram does not offer weekly, monthly, or quarterly rate packages.

Emergency Loan

Short-term cash for salary earners, paid out by Mobile Money.

12%service fee / APR

  • 0% interest
  • 12% service fee, described in-app as 12% APR
  • Repay in under 15 weeks
  • Example: UGX 100,000 disbursed → UGX 112,000 to repay
  • Apply with an amount, three guarantor phone numbers, and an OTP
  • Disbursement is by Mobile Money
  • After signup, the account is pending activation
  • In-app copy: the loan will be approved within one working day
  • Repay in full or in part via MoMo from the app
  • Loan limit rises with repayment discipline

Approval is not guaranteed. What you see at apply-time in the app is the source of truth.

How the app works

The flow below is what the Android app actually asks for and shows.

  1. 1

    Phone check and onboarding

Create an account with bio data and employment (government or private). Confirm with an OTP, then set a PIN.

  2. 2

    Documents

Upload a portrait selfie, national ID, and work ID. Civil servants add a supplier number. Employment files are a payslip, appointment letter, and work ID photos.

  3. 3

    Pending activation

After signup the account waits for activation. The app says the loan will be approved within one working day.

  4. 4

    Apply for an Emergency Loan

Enter the amount, three guarantor phone numbers, and agree with an OTP.

  5. 5

    Disbursed by Mobile Money

If approved, funds go out by Mobile Money. Track outstanding balance and loan status in the app.

  6. 6

    Repay from the app

Pay in full or in part via MoMo inside the app, in under 15 weeks. Limits can rise when you repay on time.

Who can apply

Eligibility is narrow on purpose

The app is built for employed Ugandans who can document a salary — not a general consumer credit line, and not a stored wallet balance.

  • Salary earners only
  • Ugandan
  • 18 years or older
  • Government or private employment

What you upload

  • Portrait selfie
  • National ID
  • Work ID
  • Payslip
  • Appointment letter
  • Supplier number (civil servants)

About LoanGram

A contingency for payday gaps — from Kampala

“Your Contingency Wallet” is the in-app tagline. It describes the job: a short Emergency Loan when salary timing and bills do not line up. It is not a wallet you top up or a stored balance.

LoanGram is built for Uganda. We are based in Kampala. This site is the public front door while the Android app is prepared for a wider release.
